After spending over 25 yrs in the tile business it has totally gone to hell so I'm off to a new career and I'm starting tomorrow. I have been passionate about motorcycles for about 10 years now and Adamec HD is giving me a shot. I really dig new adventures!
How exciting! Best of luck with your new path. I've been with the same company for 20 years and have loved my job, but the business model is changing and I believe I'm at a crossroads. Problem is, I'm really not sure what I want to do next. There are a several things I'm passionate about...just not sure if I can make a living at them. But, reading your post gives me inspiration and hope.

I know this challenge as well, after 20 years in the Navy got a great job in CA, good money etc, then was laid off with 80K people in 2 months during the dot com deaths in 2001. 79,999 of them were much smarter than I and it was some tough times - moved to Tampa FL based on an internet search - did not know anyone an made it with $50 to spare for my family of five - plus 5 pets and a pile of bills!!!!
